A to Z Blog Challenge - perfect for new bloggers!
Full disclosure, I am not involved in the setting up or hosting of this blog challenge, I just think it is a fantastic idea and some of the bloggers/authors hosting the challenge are among my favorites.

The April A to Z Blogging Challenge was started last year by Arlee Bird at Tossing It Out (http://tossingitout.blogspot.com/). It begins on Friday, April 1st, by blogging a letter of the alphabet every day with Sundays off. That's 26 days, A to Z.
While the challenge itself encourages bloggers to get into the habit of blogging regularly and writing shorter, sweeter blog posts, the best part is that it encourages everyone to check out particpating blogs, comment, make new friends, and build new blogging relationships. It's sort of like a month long block party but without that one obnoxious neighbor who wants to tell you about the brilliant novel idea he has that you should totally write for him because it is going to be bigger than that one book with the wizard kid in the dumb glasses.
Meeting new bloggers is my very favorite part about being a blogger, so this challenge is perfect! It is a fantastic way to really gain some new followers and start establishing yourself with readers.
You can read more on Alex J. Cavanaugh's blog http://alexjcavanaugh.blogspot.com/2011 ... ments.html. Alex has also posted tips and ideas in the last couple of weeks for those participating.
If you are participating, leave a reply with a link to your blog so I can follow along with your month of posts!

Hmm... that sounds like a great idea, but I'm still overwhelmed. I have 2 days to figure it out though. PLENTY of time!

I'm participating! I thought this was a great idea when I saw it and have been researching what to post about for each letters ever since. I'm, huh, not sure how 'sweeter and shorter' will turn out, but we'll see!

That's awesome!!! I'm glad you are participating, I think this is going to be fun. Also yeah I don't need your link since I read your blog every day, but others might want it!Claudie wrote:I'm participating! So what go you think, guys - should those of us who are participating post on this thread every morning to let people know what our subject is? Or just leave it on the normal blog thread? I think it would be fun to be able to pull up this thread and see that A is for apostrophy for so-n-so, and adverbs for this person, and allegories for that person...all in one uninterrupted list.

This is an awesome idea! We can start a thread of A to Z posts that we post to every day with links to that day's letter.Margo wrote:So what go you think, guys - should those of us who are participating post on this thread every morning to let people know what our subject is? The Challenge will test your mettle as a writer, a creative mind, and a networker. If you want blog followers I can guarantee that you can add at least 100 to 200 during the month of April if you are networking the right way. There is so much to learn from other bloggers as well.
The Challenge is perfect for new bloggers or seasoned bloggers--anyone who wants a blog challenge.

Okay, it's official. My blog is live. And I have my first post up. Yes, yes, I'm late. I know. But I'll do B tomorrow and will be back on schedule by Monday.
Here's the link, though I see the "A" from the title didn't make it into the URL. Will have to look into that...
