What REALLY happens after your agent signs a deal with you?

Post by ben4realla » July 20th, 2013, 6:57 am

Usually, how long does it take a literary agent to schedule meeting with prospective companies? How long do publishers (the ones who were scheduled to attend the meeting with the concerned agent) take to review the work(s) and get back to the agent?

My agent told me that her scheduled meeting with prospective publishing outfits will be on September. 'Till then', she said 'there won't be any updates'. Is she right making such a statement?
