I have to agree with Mira.

And polymath, I've said it before and I'll say it again, you are a gem!

Good luck! I'm sure you'll write a great one, Cheeky! :)

Well, I can't speak for Mira, but you can breathe once you've finished. Lol. Or, follow my solution and just eat lots of chocolate as your support mechanism along the way!

I'm sure you'll do a great job, because you are taking the time and effort to understand what the critical elements or 'bones' of a synopsis are. Good luck with it all!

Cool, Leila. Thanks for the validation.

I've practiced synopsis writing for classic and contemporary narratives so I could work out the process and for the sake of my writing projects. For instance, the main dramatic complication of Farley Mowat's The Boat Who Wouldn't Float, nonfiction, is all right there in the title. The synopsis I sketched was just a matter of summarizing Mowat's efforts to address the complications of the boat who wouldn't float.

Aw, gosh shucks, Mira, thanks. By the way, the goldenrod buds are still green. When they go gold I'll put up a picture of them in full glory.

Oh, how lovely, polymath. :) I'll look forward to seeing them.

Cheeky, you're funny. So, I saw this quote and thought of you:

"If you know the art of breathing you have the strength, wisdom, and courage of ten tigers."

- Chinese adage

Ha! That or CHOCOLATE. :)

Mira - lucky you qualified that quote with the chocolate option! Lol.

Cheekychook - how are you travelling with your synopsis now?

I wrote it, a few times (ha!)---it's in the synopsis thread, open to comments.

It’s no coincidence that this looks like a blatant bump to an eight-month-old thread, but this is where I am. The 1-2 page synopsis is my final task before I begin the query process in earnest, and when Cheeky, Holly and Polymath speak, my human listens.

It took awhile to find, and I thought I might not be the only one who would benefit their insight. Thanks y’all.
