Beta needed

Post by stephmcgee » August 18th, 2010, 11:30 pm

It's urban/contemporary fantasy and not YA.

I'm looking for big-picture issues here. Does it start in the right place? Is there enough conflict to keep you interested? Was the ending rushed? Etc. Trash the characters, do what you will. I just need positive and negative feedback on this book. I'm feeling like a total hack at the moment and I really could use some objective eyes. It's out with one beta for a male perspective. And part of it is with another for her to decide whether she wants to continue reading.

I'm willing to reciprocate in any capacity, be it a chapter or a whole manuscript. Or a query or a synopsis or even just a sounding board. Thanks.

Thanks for that. I'm going to hold off on betas until I get the feedback from the person it's with at the moment. I feel like there's a solid, do-over rewrite in this book's near future so I'll keep you two in mind for when I get that done. Thanks again.
