Looking for long haul critique partner

Hi all,

I’m on the hunt for a new critique partner. For one reason or another I have not been able to find what I’ll call a “steady” critique partner. I have managed to find one-time critique partners through SCBWI and other organizations over the years, but have not found someone I can count on for more than one project. The demands of my day job are such that I cannot make it to local writing group meetings. Therefore, I am hoping I can find a critique partner online.

My ideal critique partner:

-has been writing for several years

-has written more than one novel

-has the goal of being traditionally published

-writes on a regular basis, whether that is every day or once a week

-reads a lot of YA as well as other genres (a book a week or every 2-3 weeks)

-writes contemporary YA, YA romance, or historical YA (not fantasy, sci-fi, or dystopian). This is a wish list item, not a must have. At minimum you should have an appreciation for YA.

-gives constructive criticism in a way that isn’t hurtful

-provides feedback in a timely manner

-is able to line edit as well as provide big picture feedback

-can work via email and/or Skype and does not need to meet in person

-can critique query letters, synopses, and manuscript pages if need be
