Question on conflciting query letter advice between sites
Dear Nathan Bransford, I am writing to you because of your knowledge and understanding of the Folio Literary website. While researching agents, I was considering Ms. Celeste Fine or Ms. Paige Wheeler for separate projects. I have a young adult novel, and a memory loss workbook to find representation...

Novel writer? Or screenplay writer?
I began my writing, simply by writing. The more I have reviewed my writing, the more I realize it is in outline form, and leads much to be guessed at by the audience. I realize that many of the emotions must be seen, and cannot be easily described in words. A few months ago, a friend on a now crashe...

Re: Query - "Tribal New Begining"
Thank you both. I think I am still being too outlineish, and not sharing enough of the story. However,, I don't want to share so much it defeats the purpose of reading it. It's tough to get the combination right.

Re: Nonfiction
Considering it took me three years to produce a fiction 41,000 word work, I wouldn't want to send in a proposal on an unfinished product. I know how life and illness can get in the way. I have put 50,000 into my current non-fiction in less than two months, but also know, in a few weeks, I will be go...

Re: Does your MS go up or down in size?
Well, I have one complete at 41,400 words. It is out for a Beta read. Honestly, there is nothing else, the story reaches its end. I can see one tiny scene, as part of another story, maybe 1,000 words and 14 years later. I have no idea how people write 100,000 words on any topic (have a blog post on ...

Re: Words Per Day
I thought I was the only one who could set food in front of me and forget about it while writing. I'll just keep pushing it out of my way (and I seriously should not miss any opportunity to eat).

Re: Writing with ADHD
With all of my health conditions, writing is one of my few joys. That has been the most difficult, convincing myself that writing is not a waste of time, and that I should make time each day for what I enjoy. Having a regular writing schedule, except during work season of course, plenty of food and ...

Re: Ask Nathan
I have a question that should be simple to answer, and expect the "it varies" response, yet I feel I need to ask. As a visually impaired writer, I write in Verdana14 point font. Having only 3/4 of one eye, I cannot see Courier font on the screen hardly at all. I do expect to have to change...
