Re: Best E-mail Service to Use for Querying Agents?

I suggest copying & pasting your first five (or however many) pages into notepad, then copying & pasting that into the body of your email. It removes some of the wonky Word formatting.

Re: Best E-mail Service to Use for Querying Agents?

I used gmail, too, and I had a few queries "disappear" into cyberspace. (Doing everything right: query in subject line, etc.) I re-queried agents with a response policy, and they requested from me the second time around. No idea what happened the first time.

Re: Do you have a new blog post?

Today's topic: How I got my agent.

I've posted my querytracker "success story" interview, and I'd love for my fellow Nathanites to come follow my journey. Also, I'm officially on sub! ::deepbreath::

Re: Putting together a marketing plan? Help!

Thanks, everyone. Your tips are greatly appreciated! Somer, I have a blog, twitter, and Facebook page under my real name, which I'll utilize once my YA goes on sub. (We haven't even started revising that one yet.) However, when it comes to my steamy-romance-alter-ego, she only has a website and a na...

Re: Putting together a marketing plan? Help!

Thank you, that's very helpful. I didn't even know some of those things existed! I see many, many of the published authors in my RWA chapter doing their own marketing. (Published by both large and small houses.) Sad, but true, In fact, a few of them have ordered promotional materials advertising the...

Do you or do you not have some suggestions for me, Guardian? (Aside from firing my agent, that is.)

Putting together a marketing plan? Help!

I've been waiting for this moment a long time. The slightly scary news: My agent wants me to write an author bio, which should include a ma...

Congrats, Don! Did you accept, or are you giving the others a chance to finish reading, etc.?

Re: Rejection Stats

I'm happy to report I've accepted an offer of representation. I am equal parts excited and terrified. (The "what if's" have set in. What if I used up all my creativity on this book, and the well is dry? What if my agent hates the next book and drops me? That's me: always finding new ways t...
