Re: How to be Friends with a Writer
This is just my highly biased opinion, but I think spec-fic writers should be held in a higher regard since they think beyond the bounds of reality to create beings, cultures, and worlds from scratch. It's one thing to write a story about a guy living in NYC dealing with a divorce, and quite anothe...

Re: Distractions
Thank you so much for pointing that out!
For some reason I don't get as many ideas in the shower as I do right before I go to sleep. Another thing that works for me is taking a long walk. If you ever see someone walking along staring aimlessly into the distance, that's me!

Re: Book Clubs
That sounds like fun! I've already read THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO but I still might follow along and join in the discussion.

Re: Distractions
Sometimes when I'm trying to go to sleep at night my brain decides to start processing things at 1.21 gigawatts and suddenly I've got all kinds of ideas racing through my head. I have to sleep with a notepad and pen next to my bed because of it. It's very disrupting, but in the end I don't mind. Too...

Re: Book Clubs
I've been dying to join a book club but there never seems to be enough time. I hate it when I read a book and don't have anyone to analyze it with, though. That's half the fun!
Maybe I'll finally "find the time" and start my own.

Re: Do you have a new blog post?
This is a little bit off topic but I've been doing a lot of thinking lately about how the media affects us. Plus, I love this forum so I couldn't help myself.

Re: Social Networking - does it really work?
I couldn't help but join in the conversation. I've been wondering a lot lately about whether or not social networking is worth it and I've essentially decided in favor simply because I can interact with people that like to do what I like to do and I can learn something in the process. Dave Trott pos...

Hi All! I'm 5'8.5". I've been reading Nathan's blog for over a year and I've never been quite brave enough to go public until now. I've been wanting to get involved in a community of writers for a while in hopes that I'll meet like-minded people and learn more about my craft. This seems like j...
