Bigfoot and Writing
I had an electrifying experience last night that made me wonder if there are others out there who share my enthusiasm for the eclectic written word. I was chatting on-line with a friend who once had a life altering experience. In 1992, while on a fishing trip in East Texas, he had an encounter with ...

Re: W.I.P. Feedback: How Much Is Too Much?
I have one person that I share everything with, regardles of what stage it's in. That person is my fifteen year-old daughter. I know she will give me her honest opinion. Her first impression pops out of her mouth without a single concern for my feelings. I have come to count on that. Other than her,...

Re: Say The Words
I like your style Sierra. :) In for a penny, in for a pound. But I don't think it's being rude to defend yourself when someone else first threw down the gaunlet. I say they brought it on themselves. I have the self-doubt/confidence thing going on inside--I think we all do to some degree--and I think...

Say The Words
I am a writer. Four simple words. Should be easy enough to say, right? Well, they are easy for me to say, but it hasn't always been that way. A few years ago, when I first became serious about writing, I couldn't have said those words if my life depended on it. Not only was I afraid I hadn't earned ...

Re: Do you work on more than one book at a time?
No. But I do get distracted by ideas for other books while I work on another one. The only way I have found to put the distraction aside is to spend a little time writing it down and developing it until I'm comfortable with moving on. And the more I develop it, the easier it is to return to it later.

Re: Let's Discuss Edward...
"As Moni12 said, though, it's hard to strike a middle-ground. It seems if you speak for one side or another, you get tagged with "Twi-hard" or "Twi-hater", no matter what you actually said. It's a shame because it prevents any solid and serious discussions on the books. Most...

Re: Let's Discuss Edward...
I'm with you, Charlee. It's all about preferences, and we all have our own. I think we Twilighters feel we are being attacked or looked down on because the haters yell louder than the lovers. I fully understand what "falls" is saying, and of course all teenagers can't be grouped together, ...

Having never experienced it, I guess it's hard for me to distinquish the two apart. Thank you for the clarification. And the advice.

Writer's Block
I've heard that writer's block is a serious malady for a lot of writers, infecting and crippling the creative process. I've also heard that some of these writers go to the extreme, hoping to cure it. (You say you stood on your head to increase the blood flow to your brain? And when that didn't work ...

Let's Discuss Edward...
I have a confession to make. I'm old enough to have a fifteen year-old daughter, and I'm in love with Edward Cullen (sigh), Stephanie Meyer's hero in the Twilight Saga. For all of you rolling your eyes and thinking I must be delusional, this post is for you. Normally, young adult novels are not some...
