Re: *REVISED* Query letter for "Gaia's Secret"
Is Gaia a secret world or one well known to everyone and Daria just doesn't know she is from there? if the former, how does the family know who/what Daria is? Are they also from Gaia? Might be good to clarify that. :-)

Re: Query Bleamy's Corner YA historical fiction.
You started out with one tense, then jumped to another, and back. Stick with one tense, usually past. So watched instead of watches, and followed instead follows, etc. Also several basic grammar errors that I noted below along with other remarks. I think it is a good start overall. :-) Please critiq...

Re: What are you reading now?
I tried reading Girl With the Dragon Tattoo as my boyfriend's mother liked it and it has such high reviews, but something about the writing style made me twitch. So while the plot sounded interesting, I didn't even get past the first page. So instead I started reading Allison Brennan's Original Sin ...

Re: Valentine's Day and Other Romantic Moments in a Writing Life
Our Valentine's Day this year was fairly low key. I am still recovering from a few weeks fighting bronchitis, and my boyfriend is in the middle of producing a show for the community theater so he'd had a physically exhausting week. We also both had work. Still, it was a great evening and we enjoyed ...

Re: One Line Pitch
Thanks for the feedback both of you :-) I don't know, something about what causes the girl's premature confrontation with mortality or the effect, perhaps derangement from knowing it'll all be over too tragically soon. Though I think I'd like more to see what brings her away from the brink and gives...

Re: Questionable content - do you read it?
I have and would read what others consider "questionable content". The victim being a child wouldn't really change it for me. I would generally say if you want to do it "on-screen", avoid excessive and gratuitous details to avoid turning off some readers though.

Re: One Line Pitch
Recently wrote up some of these for my WIPs, so I'll throw one out here :-) This one is for Aisuru, To Love, my young adult fantasy romance. I tweaked it a bit after reading the earlier responses to others pitches :-D A dying high school girl finds companionship and love in the guise of a demon prin...

Re: The Introduction Thread
Another newbie :-) I'm Collectonian, also known as Summer in the real world (no point hiding it since it is easily googleable LOL). I'm in my early 30s, a web developer by career, and currently an unpublished novelist with two completed novels in the editing process for submission. I began writing i...
