Re: Lodestar query first go (new version posted)
And based on this description, they're not angels at all. They're simply some sort of winged aliens. Period. You may call them angels, but from that they won't be angels. Also why are they doing this, why they're truly fighting for? I have no idea. Make it clear. Fighting for supremacy is an alibi,...

Newest version: Dear [agent name], Into each hero’s life a star must fall. Too bad those heroes don’t know this when they’re born. Derek Steventon’s life has gone exactly to plan– early graduation from college, Air Force, and now NASA. While training, he falls for fellow airman Liz Forster. Their my...

Re: Taking the Plunge
Thanks, guys. I'm going to spend this week on query and synopsis. Then while I'm getting feedback on those, I'll be researching agents to query and getting all things prepped in that area.

Taking the Plunge
I'm going to start my submission packages this weekend. Meaning synopses (a 2-pager and a 5-pager) and my query. Not sure when I'll actually start querying, but it will be soon. *bites nails*

Re: Great Gatsby Video Game
That. was. awesome. Wish I had more time right now to play. But I'll have to get lost in it tonight before bed. The controls took some getting used to for me, but it was pretty sweet. Made it to level 2 before I had to stop.

Re: One Line Pitch
I just wanted to drop by and thank all of you who helped me refine my pitch. I pitched to four people (3 agents and 1 publisher) at a conference this afternoon, and all four requested fulls! :) Now I'd love to be able to tell you which version I used, but I was so nervous, I don't really remember. ...

Re: Narrative time
I would suggest you use whatever narrative time best fits the story. I read Mandy Hubbard's You Wish a couple weeks back and everything in that book takes place over a two week period, yet it's YA and much of it takes place at school. The Percy Jackson books do take place at summer camp, yes, but I ...

Revision frustration
Argh! Going through a serious bit of frustration with the WiP right now. I'm *thisclose* to being done with my third round of revisions on the book and there's one thing that is being problematic. I am so annoyed. I'm trying to come up with ways of setting up a big sort of revelation at the end with...
