Re: NaNoWriMo: 30 Days of Support and Encouragement
I did a Word War yesterday on #writersroad and it was the same way - cool, inspirational, and kick-started that climb up the wordcount mountain!

Re: NaNoWriMo: 30 Days of Support and Encouragement
I love these posts (and your badges! And Alex's Insecure Writer's Group!)! I'll be popping back ... I'm already woeful behind, but I'm just getting started with NaNo (having finished up the partying for my book launch). Looking forward to tomorrow's!

Re: Launch PartAY! Advice?/Press Releases?
Hi! I just launched my latest novel Open Minds, and threw a launch party to celebrate and spread the word. Not only was the party very successful, I've gotten positive feedback from people who participated about how it was set up. I'd be happy to answer questions, but you can see here basically what...

Re: My Self-Publishing Experiment - Initial Results.
Dave - Thanks for sharing all your data! Very helpful. I've read "Let's Get Digital" and found it very insightful (even blogged about it a while ago in one of my Notes from the E-Revolution posts). Best of luck in the months ahead!

Re: Building Social Networks
MaybeGenius has it just right (*waves* ). Also, I would recommend Kristen Lamb's book, Are You There Blog, It's Me Writer. Avoid the gimmicks, be yourself, have fun. Don't stress. I know, not easy. Most of all: Don't forget to write!

Re: Library Thing
I got on Library Thing a long time ago (when my book first came out, so a year), but I really don't visit. There's only so much social media I can do!

Re: Scene length and pacing
There are certain scenes that are delicious and meant to be drawn out, savored, slowing time down in them, and others that are suspenseful, fast, quick. This! There is a certain rhythm to every scene, I think, and you have to pay attention more to that - the rising and falling of action, of tension...

Re: How NOT to respond to reviews.
I haven’t read the whole controversy (purposely avoiding it), because I like to celebrate the niceness in life (go Nate B.!) and do my best to ignore bad behavior. However, here’s an interesting analysis of the “group” behavior that these kinds of events seem to inspire… http://thestrangestsituation...

Re: Do e-books change the way you read?
I didn't think there was any difference, except for the giddiness of the instant-download-and-read experience, until I wanted to buy a book to analyze (for plot and craft). Then I had a need for paper - to make notes and to flip back and forth quickly from chapter to chapter. I realized I had done t...

Re: Heifer International
Well, I jumped the gun (what can I say? I'm impatient!). My WRITERS GIVE HOPE campaign will go through December 21st, and I hope folks will stop by to help me give away some llamas and spread awareness for Heifer International. :)

Jacob Wonderbar
I know Jacob isn't coming out until May 2011, but when it does, I would love, love, love to be a part of any blog-tour you might be doing. My Ink Spells blog is targeted to middle grade reads, with a heavy emphasis on boy readers, SF, and other cool things. I've recently expanded to Young Teens (age...

Heifer International
Nathan, I hope your new gig at CNET is going well! I was wondering if you'll be supporting Heifer International again, like last year? I was hoping to run a comment contest (like I did last year ) to raise awareness for Heifer (and donate another Llama!), but if you were participating, I'd like to s...
